Huron County Local Emergency Planning Committee (LEPC)
The objectives and responsibilities of the LEPC includes developing and exercising a
hazardous materials response plan, receiving and processing information regarding emergency releases
of hazardous substances and implementing procedures for community Right-to-Know reporting.
The purpose of this committee is to minimize the loss of life and property in the event of a
disaster. Quarterly meetings are open to the public and are attended by the following emergency responders,
governmental agencies, local industry, and others who share a concern about chemical safety in
Huron County.
